The Air
Taser is a handheld personal protection device that utilizes
compressed air to shoot two small probes up to 15 feet. The probes are connected
by special insulated wire that connects back to the Power Handle. An electric
signal is then automatically transmitted along the wires to the assailant (even
through up to 2 inches of clothing) The reason that Air Taser's are so
effective is because it over-rides the nervous system of the human body.
Traditional stun-technology operate in a 7-14
watt range, and only interfere with the communication signals within the nervous
system. Some stun-gun victims may have, or can develop a very high tolerance for
electrical stimulation, and are able to fight though the effect of these
systems. Taser's however, operate on an 18 to 26 Watt electrical signal which
completely overrides the central nervous system and directly controls the skeletal
muscles.
